Now we are living in 21st century & present century is called ICT age. In the ICT era peoples are used the ICT tools in the day to day activities, for example e-purchasing, e-selling, e-prayers, e-friendship with the help of ICT tools. Like that libraries also used varies new ICT tools for provide the quality, instant library services to the users. Now a day’s library users not need to the come library but library will come to the user’s desktop with the help of modern IT tools, software’s & Hardware’s. In this paper it is highlighted that ICT skills among the librarians

EXPERIMENTAL STUDIES OF PRESSURE DISTRIBUTION IN TILTING PAD THRUST BEARING WITH SINGLE CONTINUOUS SURFACE PROFILED SECTOR SHAPED PADS

The effect of the film shape on the load carrying capacity of a hydrodynamically lubricated bearing has not been considered an important factor in the past. Flat faced tapered bearing and the Raileigh\u27s step bearing of constant film thickness have been the primary forms of film shapes for slider bearing studies and design data developments. There are indications in the literature that surface profiling/texturing can have significant and positive influence on the load carrying capacity of hydrodynamic pad thrust bearings. Therefore, the objective of this paper is to compare the experimental results of pressure temperature distributions in slider bearing with flat surface and with different single continuous surface profiled (Cycloidal,Catenoidal,Quadratic) sector shaped pads. Pressure results presented in this paper can provide a platform for validation of theoretical models. An experimental study has been performed to investigate the influence of single continuous surface profiled sector shaped pads in tilting pad thrust bearing. It has been found that with cycloidal shaped surface profiled sector shaped pads the pressure generated within fluid film is enhanced which in turn causes enhancement in load bearing capacity of hydrodynamic bearing

Status of Automation in Agricultural College Libraries

    Get PDF
The growth and development of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is playing vital role in the field of library and information science. The present paper shows the status and problems of library automation in agricultural college libraries under the jurisdiction of MPKV, Rahuri. It shows that only 65% of Libraries are automated and main problems for library automation are inadequate staff, lack of infrastructure, insufficient funds and lack of training to library staff. This study also gives a status view of the software packages used by libraries and modules of library automation that they are using. It was found that Automation of libraries is still in formative stages in self financed colleges. These libraries are using only for few modules of library automation like acquisition, circulation and cataloguin

A Survey of some Medicinal Plants for Fungal Diseases from Osmanabad District of Maharashtra State

The present investigation was carried out in various Talukas of Osmanabad District, India during the years 2008 & 2009. In the present research we have selected commonly found and economically important three medicinal plants viz. Aloe vera (L.) Burm. F, Datura metel L. and Withania somnifera (L.) Dunal from various locations of Osmanabad District for the survey of fungal diseases. Plants were examined In situ for disease symptoms as well as samples being collected for laboratory analyses. Fungi were identified using morphological characteristics, and where necessary with molecular techniques. The survey resulted in a range of fungi identified from the target plants. Common diseases on all the three plants were leaf spots, leaf blight and leaf rust causes harmful effects on medicinal value of the plant parts. Alternaria spp. was attacked on Aloe and Datura leaf while Cercospora withaniae causes leaf spot diseases of Withania. Other fungi observed were Fusarium solani, Aspergillus niger, Penicillium spp., etc. These found to be very harmful for the medicinal uses of the plant parts and may be adversely affect to the body

This paper examines Online Public Access Catalogue of MPKV University Library, Rahuri. OPAC is an information retrieval system, has revolutionized access to bibliographic information through search capabilities such as keyword searching, Boolean searching, truncation, proximity searching, and item identity number searches. The paper discusses various aspects of OPAC such as how to search, options of OPAC use etc., application of open source software (Koha) as a form of resource sharing tool and a single authoritative source of MPKV University library resources

Vandalism as A Crime in Engineering College Libraries A Social Issue: A Study

    Get PDF
Reports a study carried out at the Engineering Colleges in Marathwada region, to find out students’ perception and attitudes towards vandalism in the library. To elicit the necessary information, a questionnaire was distributed to 1000 randomly selected students of the colleges spread across the eleven colleges out of which 505 responded. Analysis of their responses showed that vandalism in library materials in the form of theft, mutilation and handing books and journals, is largely regarded as a form of academic self-survival strategy that is hardly frowned at by majority of the respondents. Factor that predispose to vandalism include limited library collection; unaffordable cost of personal text books, high cost of photocopying as well as peer-influence. Recommendations are made for liberalisation of loans, intensification of user education, provision of multiple copies of text books as well as use of effective security measures
